The defect

Rosenbauer Motors (Rosenbauer) is recalling one model year 2017 Commander emergency vehicle equipped with a Cummins X15 diesel engine. This engine has a fuel pump whose drive gear may slip on its drive shaft, resulting in a loss of fuel pump function.

The risk

Failure of the fuel pump will result in a sudden engine stall with no warning, and with no ability to restart, increasing the risk of a crash.
