The defect
BMW of North America, LLC (BMW) is recalling certain 2014-2016 F800 GT and 2015-2016 F800 R motorcycles. The rear side reflex reflectors on these vehicles may not be properly visible in certain traffic conditions. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The risk
Obscured reflectors may reduce the visibility of the motorcycle, increasing the risk of a crash.
