The defect

Mack Trucks, Inc. (Mack) is recalling certain 2024 MD vehicles. An incorrectly assembled high voltage connector could prevent the mechanical connector lock from properly engaging, allowing the high voltage cable to loosen.

The risk

A loose high voltage cable can cause a sudden loss of steering and drive power, increasing the risk of crash.

The fix — what to do

Owners are advised not to drive their vehicles until the remedy has been completed. Dealers will inspect and repair the mechanical connector lock as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 10, 2024. Owners may contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177. Mack's number for this recall is SC0467.
