The defect

General Motors LLC (GM) is recalling certain 2023-2024 BrightDrop Zevo 600 and 2024 Zevo 400 vehicles. The steering shaft may have been damaged during vehicle assembly and cause the steering to lock up.

The fix — what to do

Dealers will replace the lower intermediate shaft, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 28, 2025. GM's number for this recall is N252495400.
