The defect
Hexagon Purus Systems USA LLC (Hexagon Purus) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Tern RC8 vehicles. A software error may occur between the digital display cluster and the pressure sensors, causing the system to show the incorrect air brake pressure and falsely indicate a brake system failure. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 121, "Air Brake Systems."
The risk
A display that does not show accurate information may fail to alert the driver to an actual brake issue, increasing the risk of a crash.
