2022 New Flyer XE40 Recall: Speedometer may not illuminate when the headlights are turned on

The defect
New Flyer of America, Inc. (New Flyer) is recalling certain 2022 XE40 transit buses. The speedometer may not illuminate when the headlights are turned on. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 101, "Controls and Displays."
The risk
An unlit speedometer cannot show the vehicle's speed, increasing the risk of a crash.
