Official summary
Mini: due to a failure in the production process,the catalytic converter may deteriorate causing an increased level of vehicle emissions. The catalyst efficiency fault code (276a) will be stored in the dme memory, and the service engine soon lamp will be illuminated. Vehicle drivability is not affected by this type of the catalyst failure. (r55, r56). *pe
