Official summary

Pitstop: air intake mode changes when opening sunroof - when addressing customer complaints regarding the air intake mode switching from recirculation to fresh air mode without customer input; on the applicable vehicles in this pitstop, the hvac logic has been modified to switch the air intake mode to fresh air, automatically, when opening the sunroof. This is done to prevent exhaust gases from entering the cabin when the sunroof is open. This condition should be considered normal operation and not a malfunction.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
