Official summary

If you encounter a 2013-2016 cx-5 with dtc p011a with overheating and/or no heat from the heater, compare the heater performance to another cx-5. If another cx-5 is not available, check the heater core flow and if restricted, drain/replace coolant and replace the heater core. Note: if the code is set by itself, without overheating and/or no heat from the heater, follow the workshop manual on ms3 online.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
