Official summary
On certain audi vehicles with a 3.0l tfsi engine manufactured during a specific period, the diagnostic thresholds for the catalytic converters were programmed too tightly in the engine control unit. As a result, the malfunction indicator light (mil) may come on even though the catalytic converters are working properly. If the mil is on, a vehicle will not pass an emissions inspection.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
