"situation: the engine malfunction indicator lamp (mil) may be illuminated. Upon diagnosis, the technician may find a leak in the engine air intake system and/or one or more of the following diagnostic trouble code (dtc) stored in the engine control module (ecm): p144c-00, p2178, and/or p2282. Once any hardware faults have been resolved, the service instruction below is required. Cause: this may be caused by an engine management system (ems) software error."
