Official summary
Use extreme care when replacing or re-filling brake fluid at the master cylinder. There are several wiring harnesses that run under the master cylinder that can be easily spilled upon. Caution: brake fluid contains properties that can cause a short-circuit in a wiring harness. If brake fluid is spilled on any wiring harness, clean it up immediately using a shop rag and water. Be sure to wipe the fluid completely from the harness.
