Cause: land rover engineering have recently visited dealerships where a request has been made to replace the steering gear for an oil leak in the area of the pinion housing, casting, yoke plug or the gaiter adjacent to the pinion housing. What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
