Official summary
Situation: the engine malfunction indicator lamp (mil) may be illuminated. Upon diagnosis, the technician may find no hardware fault and one or more of the following diagnostic trouble codes (dtc) stored in the powertrain control module (pcm): p0044, p013a, p0300, p0301, p0302, p0303, p0304, p0420, p050b, p1315, and/or p2188. Information relating to the third byte of the dtc is not required to qualify code against this bulletin.
