Official summary

This Preliminary Information communication provides information to the technician about vehicles that have Misfire, rough running, surge, chuggle, and possible Service Engine Soon Malfunction Indicator Lamp on. Technician may find Diagnostic Trouble Codes P1223, P1226, P1229, P1232, P1235, P1238, P1241 or P1244. Technician should check the wiring between the Engine Control Module and the Fuel Injection Control module. Also inspect the C107 on Silverado and Sierra or C118 on Kodiak and Topkick connector for wire chafes. Technician should repair any wiring issues that are found.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
