Official summary

Some 2017 Explorer/Taurus/Police vehicles equipped with a 3.5L or 3.7L twin independent variable camshaft timing (TiVCT) engine, built on 14-Jun-2017 and through 21-Jun-2017, may exhibit an illuminated malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) with diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) P0740 or P0743 stored in powertrain control module (PCM) memory. Prior to replacing any components, check pin 14 in connecter c168 for correct fitment, tension, push out, or any signs of damage. If terminal replacement is necessary, pigtail kit 8U2Z-14S411-ACB can be ordered to obtain the terminal with wire lead. If no concern

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
