Official summary

Supersedes Technical Service Bulletin Group 35 number 13-14 dated August 30, 2013. Message appears in the information display: "Gearbox malfunction: you can continue driving". One or more fault entries are stored in the transmission control module. Fault codes and symptom codes must match exactly or this TSB should not be followed. Instructions for obtaining the symptom codes are in the Service section of this bulletin. Poor internal contact area on circuit board will lead to faults. Oil additives can cause the plastic circuit plates to delaminate, causing contact loss.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
