Official summary
Some 2018 Edge and MKX vehicles built on or before 28-Feb-2018, may exhibit a concern of the liftgate ajar message remains on with the liftgate fully closed. The customer may also complain of an intermittent alarm activation. This may be due to a broken switch inside of the liftgate latch. Replace the liftgate latch. Refer to Workshop Manual (WSM), Section 501-14. For claiming, use causal part 7443150 with the appropriate body code for your vehicle and applicable labor operations in Section 12 of the Service Labor Times Standards (SLTS) Manual.
