GROANING NOISE WITH CLUTCH OPERATION. Clutch operation may exhibit the following characteristics: produces a groaning noise, especially when engine is at operating temperature, during stopand-go travel. noise comes from transmission housing. noise can be heard in the interior and exterior of the vehicle. Friction between clutch slave cylinder piston rod end and ball socket (thrust piece).
