Official summary
Clicking Noise from Off-board Charger. While the vehicle is charging, the off-board charger is clicking. The clicking noise comes from the relays inside the charger cycling off and on. This condition most commonly occurs when the vehicle is fully charged; it is plugged into the charger; and then pre-conditioning is activated via the BMW iRemote app. The cycling of the relays can last from a few seconds to several minutes.
