Official summary
Some 2019-2020 Transit Connect vehicles built on or after 28-May-2018 may experience a lack of power steering assist or a power steering fault in the message center at start up which may occur after a discharged battery. Do not replace the steering rack and pinion or the power steering control module (PSCM) for this condition. Reprogram the PSCM with the latest level of the appropriate Ford diagnostic scan tool. Use applicable labor operations in Section 03 of the Service Labor Time Standards (SLTS) Manual.
