Service Solution for Cummins PTO functionality error software level 81Z-006. Cascadia/Western Star 49X with Cummins engines combined with software level 81Z-006. A programming bug in the central gateway (CGW) for software level 81Z-006 will not allow completion of the preset #2 PTO engine speed. During PTO speed request for anything greater than the #1 set speed , if the Cummins ECU software determines that the increase in speed isn't ramping fast enough, it will refer to an engine torque control setting instead of the engine speed control setting.
