Official summary
Freightliner Service Bulletin for Rain Sensor not Detecting Material on the Windshield. The rain light sensor (RLS) requires proper mounting and clear windshield visibility for auto wipe to function properly. It is always recommended when checking for proper operation of the RLS, that the sensor be properly fastened to its mounting bracket and that the gel is free of fingerprints and foreign material. Also ensure that no air bubble larger than 1 mm is present in the gel.
