Official summary

Some 2022 F-250 Super Duty 4x4 vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine, 10R140 transmission, and 160 inch wheelbase may exhibit a momentary, slight grinding-type noise immediately following a 4-3 downshift while coasting without the brakes applied. This condition does not affect vehicle durability. Replacement of the transmission or other components will not resolve this condition and engineering is currently working on a solution which is expected to be available by July 2022. Let the customer know they can continue to drive the vehicle and schedule a follow-up appointment for July 2022.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
