Official summary

Some 2020 2022 Escape/Aviator plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) and 2021 2022 Corsair PHEV vehicles may exhibit a FordPass or LincolnWay App message notification indicating deep sleep mode and connectivity is temporarily unavailable while the vehicle is plugged in during high voltage battery charging. The vehicle may also exhibit an inoperative remote start feature and/or lock and unlock functionality. This may be due to the software in the telematics control unit (TCU). To correct this condition, follow the Service Procedure to reprogram the TCU.

What a TSB means. Technical service bulletins are repair guidance manufacturers send to dealers — they are not recalls, and repairs are not automatically free (warranty extensions are an exception worth checking). The full document is available via NHTSA’s vehicle lookup.
