Official summary
Shifter Tower If you are working on a vehicle with a noise/rattle or noise/vibration complaint in 5th or 6th gear on decel, the field has had success by simply removing and reinstalling the shift tower from the transmission. Leaving the boot on the tower of the shifter intact, remove the two external boots first to get to the shifter tower. Please attempt this repair first if you have this concern. Follow the service instructions to ensure proper installation of the tower.
