Official summary
After starting the engine, the instrument cluster display (A40/16) may show "4MATIC inoperative" erroneously.Notes: Vehicles not equipped with 4MATIC are predominantly affected. However, in some circumstances a 4MATIC vehicle can also display this message. Previous software release of the instrument cluster control unit (N133/1) Ensure that no complaints exist regarding the 4MATIC system. If no other complaints exist, perform a software update of the instrument cluster control unit (N133/1).
