Official summary
The right-side hood strut features a two-step mechanism for opening and closing. The first step is for general, the second step is for “service mode”. When you open the hood, after completing the hood in service mode, the stay damper might rattle because it loses internal pressure support to the hoodfender- strut system. This is normal operation and not a sign of any malfunction, no parts should be replaced.
